Is this a trend, bigger companies buying out content management companies. I found this news at CNET, "EMC busy Documentum for $1.7billion."

It seems to appear that over time more of the bigger comanies will start swallowing up some of the small and medium sized companies.

I'm taking an econ class this quarter and it was interesting that our teacher would suggest that some industries are heading towards a more oligopoly or monopoly model for business structures. This is definitely one of those examples. Also many companies are starting to market that fact that they offer so much with the value that you know everything will work together.

According to CNET News, Dell will be launching a new site shortly. I'll be curious to see case studies from folk sinvolved in that project. Remember you have 3 weeks left o turn in a proposal. The new site will focus on small businesses and better management of pricing and promotions. Apparently there were some online error to pricing and certain businesses benefitted from it.

I can't help but share that I've finally placed my own order for the Librarian Action Figure. It's pretty fun. As a trained librarian, I don't see this as offensive. I think a while back there was a vote going on at the Mattel website on the next Barbie doll...architect, librarian, and archeologist wwere just some of the options and boy did I tell folks to vote for librarian. I'll probably get a few for some folks I know who'll appreciate it :)
